to visit this site. The Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China
(CIESC) is a national academic organization of Chinese chemical and engineering
professionals, affiliated with China Association for Science and Technology.
CIESC was founded on April 23, 1922 with qualified legal person status.
The aim of the Society is to promote the development of chemical industry
technology both in theory and in practice, and to advance the growth of
chemical industry talents. For many decades, CIESC has united a considerable
number of chemical engineers participating in many academic activities
with fruitful achievements.
Objectives
·To sponsor national and international academic exchanges and symposia;
·To organize continuing education and technical training courses;
·To popularize fundamental knowledge and spread high technology for chemical
industry and engineering;
·To provide consulting services for policy decision and technical services;
·To publish technical periodicals.
Major Activities
CIESC every year organizes about one hundred technical conferences, symposia,
continuing education courses, etc., covering all aspects of chemical technology,
and providing the latest technical information and opportunities for personal
advancement and professional contact.
Domestic Activities
·Conducts academic conferences and symposia;
·Organizes seminars on strategy for policy-making and provides governmental
departments with relevant advice;
·Organizes continuing education and technical training courses for professionals;
·Provides technical consulting services, spreads advanced technology for
enterprises, and promotes the conversion of technology achievements into
productivity;
·Publishes technical books, periodicals and audio-visual course-books
for chemical industry, and works on standardizing, chemical terms and
nomenclature.
International Activities
·Organizes international, Asia-Pacific or bilateral academic conferences;
·Invites foreign experts and scholars to give lectures and offer technical
training in China, and organizes Chinese professionals to visit other
countries for the purpose of business study tour, giving lectures and
attending academic conferences;
·Organizes domestic chemical companies to participate in international
fairs;
·Provides information and technical consulting services and bridges the
gap between domestic and foreign bodies in relation with technical and
trade cooperation.
